Mamma Mia

"Momma Mia, here I go again,
My My, how can I resist you?
Mamma Mia, does it show again,
My my, just how much I've missed you?"

Last night a group of us went and saw Mamma Mia at the Florida Times Union Center downtown. We had all seen the movie, so we knew that this was going to be a night of singing and dancing.

We started out our evening at the Landing where we had dinner at the American Cafe. I had the same thing that I always have the Original New York Pasta Pie and it was just as good as always!!

On the back to the theater we found some opportunities to take some pictures!!

Me in front of the trailer

The whole group!

Once we were all in the theater we were ready for the play to start, but we still had time to take some more pictures!
The Stage
Brandon and his Mom again!
Next time we want to sit there!!

The play was AMAZING! All of us sang and danced through the entire play! I have to say that this is one of the best plays that I have ever seen. It was not as good as Wicked, but this was a very close second! If you you have a chance to go see this play I highly recommend that you do!!

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day I decided that I was going to move my Sunday night cooking to Wednesday. I made a St. Patrick's Favorite, Corned Beef and Cabbage in the Crock-Pot. It was really easy to make and very tasty!!

With Mom turning the Big 5-0 we all knew that we had some serious celebrating to do! On Sunday night the family got together to celebrate at Outback in Orange Park. We had the majority of the family and then we had some awesome additions!

This is half of the table...Nana, Honey, Mom (The B-Day Girl), Brandon and Kim!
A little closer!

The other half of the table...BJ, Phil, Jeff, Tina and Nana!

Mom's German Chocolate Birthday Cake

Happy Birthday from Outback...

On Monday, which was actually her birthday, we had a fun day out and about. We started our day at Moe's for lunch because she she had a birthday coupon for a free meal! Then we headed over to the Town Center and just had fun walking around and doing a little shopping! For her birthday dinner she decided that she wanted to go to P.F. Changs!
After we were done easting our tasty dinner we decided that instead of having another cake for her birthday that we were going to walk over to The Cheesecake Factory and get a delicious piece of cheesecake. After sitting there and staring in that case for 10 minutes we finally decided that we were going to have the Stefanie's Ultimate Red Velvet Cheesecake!

For her birthday I was a good daughter and I got her the iPhone that she asked for! Since I got the iPhone for her two weeks earlier I figured that I would get her a few other small items. To go along with the phone I got her a sweater that she wanted from Gap and I also got her the book "Things to do Now that Your 50." (Before you make evil comments, she asked for the book!)

Spring Cleaning 2010 - The Closet!

Yesterday I decided that it was time to start my Spring Cleaning. I don't know why I decided to do this because I hate to clean! My first task was to clean out my closet, I figured that would take the longest, so I spent the majority of yesterday afternoon going through everything that I have in my closet! When I was finished I had a big black trash bag and two smaller bags full of clothes and shoes that I didn't want anymore. After I got rid of everything that I didn't want then it was time to start organizing my closet!

And the bottom shelf

My task for today is to get the rest of my room clean and organized, then it will be time to conquer the rest of the house!!

The Best Lunch Ever!

Today Adurady, Christie and I had a girls lunch at the French Pantry. Adurady and I had never been there, but Christie kept raving about the food so we decided that we were going to have a girls lunch. I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't this.

The French Pantry opens at 11:00 and when we got there at 11:30 the line was out the door. The inside is very small with just a handful of tables. They have three chalkboards as you enter the door that lists all of the dishes that they are serving for the day. The downside to that they only serve a certain amount of each item, so once it is gone, it is done for the day. This is because everything is homemade, including the bread. As you walk up to place your order you pass the amazing dessert case. I was a good girl I refrained from having dessert, but I will be back after Lent is over to have dessert. I took pictures of a few of the desserts that they offer.

White Cheesecake with Strawberries
The Napolean Cake
Chocolate Turtle Cheesecake
Tiramisu

After we placed our order we found a table that we shared with three other ladies and then they brought out the bread. Oh my...just the bread and the dipping sauce was amazing! Like I said above they make all of the bread homemade, and their dipping sauce was olive oil, balsamic vinegar and a mix of herbs and spices.

Now comes the main course. For lunch I ordered the Shrimp, Artichoke and Goat Cheese Bruschetta. I have only ever had the "generic bruschetta" which is the toasted bread slices with a mixture of tomatoes and herbs, but when I got my meal I was blown away. The bruschetta came with a greens mixture topped with marinated tomatoes and for some reason I felt like I needed to look at the dish and take it all in before I could take a bite.

All it took was one bite and I was hooked. I have never eaten a meal that has the flavor that this dish has. After I took the first bit I had to put the piece of bruschetta down and take the flavor in. There aren't any words to describe the taste of this meal besides AMAZING! If you are ever at the French Pantry this is a dish that is a must have! I will definitely be going back!

Alice in Wonderland in IMAX 3-D!

Yesterday Mom and I started our day by going to Alice in Wonderland in IMAX 3-D. I have been waiting for this movie to come out since they first released the posters of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. I have been to an IMAX movie before, but this was the first IMAX 3-D movie that I have been to where the entire movie was in 3-D. I have to say this movie was AMAZING! I had some doubts about the movie going in, but everything about the movie was awesome. I could not imagine seeing this movie in a regular theater because watching it in 3-D makes you feel like you are right there in the midst of all the action.

The cast of this movie is what makes it Amazing! Mia Wasikowska was a great Alice. I am not quite sure that any other actress could've pulled the role of Alice like she did. Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter as the White and Red Queens were great. The difference in them made them perfect for these roles. Even though I liked both characters I have to say I was rooting for the White Queen. And my favorite character in the movie was, of course, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. I don't know how he does it but he was amazing as the Mad Hatter. I don't think that any other actor could've pulled off a role where you go from loving to crazy to just off the charts insane. I would have to say that Alice in Wonderland is one of the best movies that I have ever seen. If you are planning on going to see it there is no better way than IMAX 3-D!!

Upcoming Excitment!

I am very excited that I am going to see Alice in Wonderland on Sunday! I have been wanting to see this movie since the first pictures of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter came out. I think that he did a great job as Willy Wonka, and I can't wait to see the movie! I am taking Mom to see it also, it is going to be her first IMAX 3-D movie!

Another movie that I am excited to see is Remember Me with Robert Pattinson that comes out on March 12. As most people know I am a huge Twilight fan and I think that the previews for this movie look great. Sadly Perez Hilton has the ending to the movie on his website and me being me I had to read it. Good thing is that I don't think that reading the ending has made me not want to see it. It is a huge twist in the movie, but I would much rather know then to be mad in the theater.

On March 15 my Mom turns the BIG 5-0! So far I have given her one of her presents and she loves it! About a week ago I went ahead and purchased her the iPhone she has been hinting about since I got mine at Christmas! So I went ahead and got her the phone instead of waiting so she would stop stealing mine and playing all the games!

Then, March 27th is going to bring in some fun! This is the night that we have tickets to go see Mamma Mia at the Florida Times Union Center. The movie is one of my Mom's favorites, especially the sing-a-long version! When we found out that the play was coming to Jacksonville we decided that we had to go. There is going to be a group of six of us going and it is going to be a lot of fun!
